Rihanna & Chris Brown

Most of us have heard about the fight between Rihanna and Chris Brown by now. For those who haven't, here is the gist of the story. The fight is rumored to be started from a text message. Apparently Chris received a text asking when he was going to hook up with them. Rihanna saw this message and naturally become angry. She threw a fit and got out of the car. Chris tried to get her back in the car and when she refused that's why he allegedly hit her. The police reports states she had a split lip, bruises and bite marks.

It's hard to believe innocent looking Chris Brown did this. I remember seeing an interview with Chris Brown and he talked about how his mom was physically abused in his household and how he could never touch a women. A less likely rumor that I've heard in that Rihanna cheated on Chris and caught an STD and transmitted it to Chris, so in turn he beat her.

Whatever the case may be, he messed up big time and his career is in serious jeopardy. He had a lot of younger fans that looked up to him and this crippled his image. I feel slightly bad for them however because most couples go through a really huge fight at some time or another, whether it be abusive or not, and it doesn't become everyone else's business. Anyways, I hope that he learned his lesson. He can use this experience and grow from it. I have noticed that the public and media appreciate a star that has gone through hell and back, and re emerge a better person. Prime example is Ms. Britney Spears.

My LDR

For this Valentines Day my boyfriend, who lives in Maryland, came down for a week to visit. We were able to spend what was left of Friday night together after he stepped off the plane at 10:30pm as well as all of Saturday and a portion of Sunday. We were unsure of what we wanted to do on Valentines Day. We laid around for half the day and decided to make dinner at home and go to the fair later. The garlic bread smelled like poopy babies, and half the pasta came out over cooked. My boyfriend described the smell of the garlic beard as being similar "old ass".

To top it off, I didn't know how to eat the long slimy pasta. After dinner we played fear 2 and watched a movie. Although we didn't go to the fair or do much, the time we spent together after being apart from each other for so long means more than what we actually do.

Do you Believe in Karma?

If someone would have asked me this before a particular event in my life, I would have said no. However, after the situation, I have to say it has convinced me to believe in in karma. By karma I mean, “what goes around comes around”. A more precise definition can be found at Drwoords.com, an online dictionary:

One's acts considered as fixing one's lot in the future existence. (Theos.) The doctrine of fate as the inflexible result of cause and effect; the theory of inevitable consequence

This is somewhat of a personal story but I will share it for the purpose of explaining why I believe in karma.

Last year around September my father was getting tired of dealing with my kitten my ex boyfriend gave me. She meowed non-stop every morning around 5 am (without fail) until someone got out of bed. My father is a very ill-tempted man, and has been for as far back as I can remember. One morning around 6 am I heard him get up slamming the cat cage around trying to put the kitten inside. I jumped out of bed and tried to get the kitty in so he wouldn’t hurt her. While I was doing this my father yelled at me to hurry the **** up, and I don’t remember what I said back, but he snapped and was about to hit me. My mom asked him to calm down and he pushed her to the floor. She had broken her arm.

My mom stopped sleeping in bed with him and slept on the couch in the living room. My father slept in there a few nights with her and one day he couldn’t move his arm at all. He was in excruciating pain for a few days on the same arm and spot that my mom had hers broken. She took him to the doctor where they found out he had slept on it wrong. The muscle in his shoulder had frozen and needed shots to fix it.

This alone persuaded me to believe in karma. Now instead of getting angry when people do wrong, I will just know they have their dose coming sooner or later, in one form or another.
